Nappy rash and Mamia (Aldi) diapers?

My little boy is 1 week old. At the hospital, we started on Pampers but moved to Mamia (Aldi) diapers from day two at home. For the past few days, he has developed a red bottom, nappy rash and his skin is so dry. He cried a lot when changing him, which breaks my heart. We do top and tailing with warm water and cotton pads, and I've tried two different barrier creams now, but nothing seems to be working.

Have you had similar issues with the Aldi diapers? Could it be that?

Also, any recommendations on good creams for nappy rash, please let me know. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

No, we used Mamia after a week too as the midwife said it’s good. My son has never had a nappy rash. I apply nappy cream on his bottom after each nappy change.

I've used the aldi nappies since my son was born. Never had any issue with them, he's nearly 3 now.
He never had a nappy rash, I swore by metanium (the yellow one) Its been discontinued but u can buy it off the Internet, I think ebay sell it still, or I use sudocrem

We’ve been using bepanthen since birth. X

I recommend the honest cream or aquaphor diaper rash cream both work wonders for my babies diaper rash

It can take time to find the right nappies that suit. We couldn't use sainsburys as it made my daughter really sore. Personally I'd try a different brand it's not worth it

We had a similar experience. I switched to cleaning his bum with cotton pads and sterile warm water. It cleared up his nappy rash with the use of bepanthem too.
I hope it clears for him soon, it’s heartbreaking to see it so sore and then getting upset x

I had a similar issue with Aldi nappies in the hospital, but have found asda little Angels since being home to be the softest on her bum

My baby had a similar experience and I found that it wasn't even a cheaper option if I bulk buy the pampers in Asda it worked out cheaper over all and they lasted ages and more comfortable, I also use aveeno cream including the everyday moisturising one and preventer for nappy rash

My baby had a huge bleeding pus-sy rash but w Huggies. I couldn’t be bothered trialling anymore disposable brands that’s when I trialled cloth reusables- his rash cleared and since we already bought them I just stuck w the cloth for the rest of his diaper journey. Great for me coz I never ran out they were always there for me to use, no more sizing up either. He used the same stash from 6w-2y3m when he trained. They’re also super cute I got a bit addicted to the different prints lol. Diapers are trial and error. Either change brands or change type.
