Leicester General visiting times

Does anybody know what the Leicester General Hospital visiting times are? When I had my first 3 years ago, it was set times but I’m not sure if that’s changed or not now xx

Think till midnight? My partner was always allowed until 12 when he visited an obv to stay over when in labour x

@Francheska hs that changed then? When I was at general for my daughter it was only 2-4 or 6-8

@Taylor think it depends who is visiting? I had my baby last June and anyone important was allowed within visiting times until midnight is what I was told but I only ever had my partner there

@Francheska wow that’s defo changed then. My husband was only allowed during the 2-4 6-8 visiting hours. I would have been a bit annoyed if the others around me had their families until midnight, the visiting hours were insanely loud when I was in hospital for a few days after my daughter was born.

@Taylor oh wow! Tbf they were a bit more relaxed in general when I gave birth I was in for induction and there for 5 days and managed to have a private room for 3 if those so they were okay with him being in there till 12, maybe its diff on wards??

@Francheska could very well be! I was also in for a week with pre eclampsia before my daughter was born and then 3 days after too. But was on the main ward for it all.

Birth partners can stay 24hrs now on postnatal wards too! Which would have completely changed my experience for the better if that was the case in 2023 so I think it’s really positive!

Oh wow! Thank you for this, I didn’t realise birth partners could stay the night either xx

@Megan where do they sleep?

@Taylor they only get the chair next to the bed, I guess it’s up to them if they want to stay isn’t it but the option is there

@Megan oh wow! Yeah that’s not particularly comfy ahaha. That’s soooo different from when my daughter was born in 2023

@Taylor yeah same, tbh I had such a bad experience at the royal but I think if my partner had stayed it would have been so different! i think it will be good for birthing women but yeah just uncomfortable 😅🙈

@Megan I’m very torn. I would have loved my husband there more but as I mentioned above, some families were insanely loud, would be quite hard to rest.

@Taylor yeah there definitely were some inconsiderate people on the ward for sure!
