What to wear during labour?

I've got a big T-shirt/nightie that buttons at the front

Hospital gown

I wore a nightie last time & plan to do the same this time. I’ve packed 2 and will probably dispose of them after labour again as they can get messy!

i brought my own lightweight robe. wore a tank top underneath it until i just needed everything off of me and i was naked lol

I ended up wearing a sports bra and strappy Tshirt but I didn’t get time to change because I was 10cm dilated when I got to the hospital. I had purchased a shirt and shorts pj set to wear because the pj shirt is easy to undo for skin to skin afterwards.

Just a crop top/sports bra.
Both times i went into labour in the middle of the night so I put on my “labour nightie” ready… but first time I had a water birth, so whipped it off. And second time, the room was hotter than the sun 😂

I can’t even remember, I think I was just in a top and I think I took my joggers off before my waters were broken and then I think I just had a sheet over my bottom half 😂😂 I had debated getting one of those really lovely labour gowns but glad I didn’t

I was naked🧍I couldn’t deal with epidural, catheter and canula AND clothes. I ripped off that gown so fast

Pjs/nightie

I took a nightie but ended up in hospital gown, which they ended up cutting in the end so I wouldn't take anything too precious if you do take your own!

I had a sports bra for water birth but also took a button up top so I could beat feed and also in the event of a c-section you can unbutton the bottom x

I went to primark and brought a maternity nighty that daisy mummy to be and a big elephant on the front x

I just had a sports bra the entire time I lost all ounce of dignity I didn't care who saw me naked as long as my daughter got out of me safely 😂

I want a water birth so was thinking it might be easiest to be naked but also packed a couple of tops and a sarong in case. Don’t have any nighties 🤷🏻‍♀️

I gave birth in my maternity dress pulled up to my hips. I didn’t get changed into any gown

I had a plan on wearing my button up nighties but I ended up just giving birth in my bra and nothing else 😂😂😂

Honestly birth is so messy I preferred the hospital gown

I gave birth in a nursing bra, a soaking wet one at that as I was too uncomfortable in the birthing pool but when I got out I refused to dry off or get changed 😂😅 Oh god the flashbacks!!

I ended up naked 😂 clothes irritated the life out of me and I was boiling despite it being end of October!

I agree with Katrina. Birth was messy so I just stayed in my hospital gown until after birth when I could get cleaned up and wear something comfortable for recovery

I’m not taking anything this time as I’ve ended up naked the two previous times. I think what you’re wearing will be the last thing you think about when it’s happening. I ended up just getting too hot and stripping off.

I wore one of my husband's t shirts when I gave birth. Nothing else on lol

I had a t-shirt on the top half and literally nothing on the bottom half. I had a very intense labour tho… no time for anything other than contractions 😅

I'm going to buy some cheap button-up nighties for in hospital and just a sports bra for giving birth in I think? I think when it happens I will probably end up fully naked and pissed off at fabric hahaha
