transitioning from cot to bed

has anyone transitioned their kids from cot to big bed yet? i have an 18 month old and she is still in her cot. i keep seeing on tik tok people buying single/double beds for their toddler and wondering if i should start thinking about the same? I don't know about anyone else's toddler but mine just rummages through everything, pulls everything out, climbs on everything and loves turning switches on and off so i'm thinking her cot is the only place she can't cause chaos atm šŸ˜‚ i don't know how other peoples kids just sleep in these beds freely, i know she'd just get out the bed and cause mayhem!

Iā€™m keeping mine in her cot for as long as possible, Iā€™d be up all night putting her back to bed if she knew she could get out lol. I think they say unless thereā€™s a reason to change them from their cot between 2.5 and 3 is the best time to change to a bed as they have more understanding of sleeping and staying in their bed, but like everything every baby / toddler is different.

My baby is on a montessori bed since 10 months old. He understands when is time to sleep and stays in bed. We had no issues on transitioning they just need to get used to.

We changed our son to a floor bed when he was 18 months old,we only changed him due to me being pregnant and I was finding it hard to get him in and out of his cot xx

Considering a single bed with mesh bed guards because my little one keeps hitting her head on the sides of the cot, waking up and crying. Sheā€™s currently in a travel cot because itā€™s mesh and wakes up less. I wouldnā€™t be thinking of changing it if it was working!

Ours has been on a floor bed from about about 1 year. He's such a fomo baby, in every cupboard/drawer etc, faffing with everything that I had that fear too but he's never bothered with anything! You obviously have to make the room safe in case. So we put child locks on all the drawers, removed a chair he could have climbed on etc. But ours has genuinely never bothered! When he wakes during the night he just stays sitting on the mattress and calls for me.

I'm leaving mine in his cot for as long as possible. He'd be chaos left to wander the room. I'd also worry he'd roll out so keeping my life easy and simple and the cot can stay šŸ˜…
