Baby monitor

We are potentially moving to a two story townhouse next month so my question is, is it safe to just use a baby monitor if I go downstairs while my 3 mo daughter is still sleeping upstairs in her bassinet? I’ve never had to navigate two different floors with her before. If it’s not safe, what are the other options if I want to get my morning started and she’s sleeping?

I also have a 3mo daughter! We live in a 3 floor home and as long as we’re practicing safe sleeping in her bed I roam freely just watching the monitor!

Yeah absolutely

Absolutely! Like above said, if your daughter is sleeping safely there’s no harm. I feel like that’s what monitors are for, so we can roam and get stuff done!

the american pediatric academy recommends baby sleeps in the same room for the first 6 months, ideally a year. but i suppose a monitor is fine. just depends on your level of comfort. 3 months seems a bit young to be in a separate room and floor though.

@Alexis I never said she was sleeping separately from us.

Yes it is definitely safe. I use the Nanit monitors with the breathing band it comes with. You sign into your phone for it and it gives you notifications for movement, sound and if they are wearing the breathing band it will show you breaths per minute monitoring while if in a crazy situation it doesn't detect breathing it will sound an alarm to alert you. I have 2 babies and a camera for each of them. It's 100% worth it imo. It saves me a lot less stress too knowing they are fine and I can sign in any time. Helps majorly with knowing when they wake from naps/bedtime too!
