Umbilical hernia

Does anyone’s little one have an umbilical hernia? I believe my son may have one is there anything I can do to help it or will it go on its own? Google isn’t very helpful, he’s only 5 weeks old I’m going to ring the doctors in the morning it doesn’t seem to be giving him any issues although this is my first time experiencing it so I don’t know much about it other than what Google says x

Not much help but my sister in law still has her umbilical hernia and she’s 40. 😂 Gives her no trouble and she said she forgets it’s even there.

My son had one also, no discomfort, a doctor told me to put some breastmilk on cotton wool and dab it every time I did a nappy change. I did this and it shrivelled up and dropped out and closed up all within about a week!

My son had one. When he would cry, it would get bigger. It completely closed up by the time he was 6 months old. There is nothing you can do about it, doctors won't do anything about it either unless it is still there after their 2nd birthday.

My baby boy has one (he was born 6 weeks early). He’s 7.5 months old. It’s got a lot smaller and flatter over the past couple of months, since he’s been rolling/trying to roll and using his abdominal muscles more. It seems like it’s closing up naturally but we were told that tummy time would help. It was very large before and we had doctors comment on it, but no one would do anything about it until he was 4 years old, unless there was an issue with it (e.g. lack of blood flow).

My baby had one and it has reduced significantly now (he’s fours months) my health visitor advised that it’s not usually something that needs correcting unless it’s very prominent/causing issues until around 2 years old but it usually goes on its own

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Hi ya'll

Is anyone else's 4 month old randomly screeching now? I'm not sure what to do and she's been doing this for the past two days. She's usually a quiet happy baby so im not sure why she's doing this now. Aby suggestions?

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
