Preeclampsia

I’m feeling upset and scared. I’ve been admitted to hospital with preeclampsia at 40 weeks. I’m only 1cm dilated. I have to stay in until baby is born. If I haven’t progressed more by the morning I have to have an induction. I thought I had a kidney infection as I’ve been unwell for days and the pain was in my back not my front. Has anyone else had pre eclampsia and how did your birth story go? 😢

Hey Ness, you’re in the safest place and will meet your little bean soon! I was admitted to hospital at 36 week with symptoms of pre-eclampsia, all of which remained until a planned induction at 38 weeks. Despite all the fear and prep which came with that diagnosis/potential diagnosis, I had a normal induction and perfectly normal birth two days ago. They will want to keep an extra special eye on you, just take it easy 🤍 xx

Just sending love! you carried your precious baby to term you’ve done your job. Now time to get that baby here safely with the support of the hospital 💕

Sending you big hugs, I know it’s scary but as Anna said you are in the best place right now to be looked after. Try to take it easy and focus on meeting your baby soon 🤗

I got told I had preeclampsia while I was in labour, I was induced and they knew a few days prior that I had it but never told me 😬😬 my labour went perfectly fine, I don’t think it could’ve gone any better. They just checked my blood pressure every 15 minutes and it was mostly high. Don’t be worried, they will make sure your baby is brought into this world safely🩷 x
