Hi, You can take 3 blocks of leave, after curtailing your maternity leave which means you can 'go back to work' for the school holidays and are therefore paid. You can share these with your partner, or not, it's up to you. If you are due June it may be tricky as you'd have to work out if you want to curtail your mat leave before the summer holidays (getting 6 weeks full pay) or stay on mat leave and curtail for October or Dec. To work it all out these people are great- you pay a fee and they work it out for you! https://www.teachersspl.co.uk/
They also explain it better than I can!
It's fairly new so some small schools may not be aware of this, but it's sometimes explained as in industry you'd a crew holiday and can tag it on the end of your mat leave, but in teaching you can't - but, this works instead!
Hope that helps.

I’m due in June and using it. I’m taking 2 weeks at October (block 1), 2 weeks at Christmas (block 2) and 2 weeks at the following Easter (block 3). Depends on how much time you plan to have off.

Pay the team, it’s £65 but so worth it for the work they put in for you. However you don’t have to submit the paper work until you go off on leave though so don’t panic or worrry about getting this sorted asap. It’s nice to get in touch with them now though to see what they can do for you x

I paid them to do my forms and it was worth it. I’m getting 4 weeks of extra pay. Although double check the dates on the forms as I spotted an error on mine xx
