Newborn eye infection

My little girl was finally prescribed drops after having a gunky eye for a few weeks but we’ve been doing the drops for around 3 days and it still doesn’t seem to be shifting- does anyone have a similar experience?

We’re struggling with this. We’re a week in to the drops and his eyes are still bad. Think I’m going to ring dr back this week. the dr took swabs but haven’t heard anything back

My baby had this and it got worse whenever she cried. Just use sterile water only and wipe it once per cotton ball throughout the day. It helped massively. Keep with it and it will work. Just give it a few days to clear up

If you are breastfeeding try cleaning it with some breastmilk. It works!

My newborn had this and I was told to boil water and when warm use a cotton pad to wipe his eyes, don’t use the same one all over the eyes, use a few.
We also made tea (without milk) and use the warm tea water on a cotton pad once per day.

His eyes cleared up within 5-6 days xx

yes we are 3.5 days in and it’s still bad. Have done all the things - cooled boiled water, breast milk but nothing really working yet!

My newborn had this. I spoke to GP about this. GP recommended saline water which is completely safe. Clean or wash eye with saline water. Saline water is completely safe.

Crazily it has literally cleared up overnight!
