Hi everyone! Any tips on flying with a baby? My daughter will be 8 months old & we’ll be flying to Florida. She’s easily startled by loud noises so I’m anxiously trying to find things to keep her calm / busy. Thanks!

I’ll be honest, it’s challenging to fly with a baby. We were very much over prepared as we were nervous about baby making a scene. They do make some baby headphones that may work to block some noise. Make sure you bring plenty of toys and snacks/bottles. A change of clothes or two as well. I recommend easy to take off clothes like a top and bottom, no onsey. Ours decided to have a blowout on the plane lol. We don’t usually give our baby tablets but in this case putting on ms Rachel or hey bear helped for quite a while. Whatever you can to keep baby occupied. Also a blanket for them to nap on you as planes are usually colder.

Also we took a longer flight about 5 hours thinking it would be easier to just get there. We are flying again and purposefully have a layover this time to break it up. She got really antsy the last hour or so. I’m hoping that will help break it up.

We flew to Portugal (from uk) 2 weeks ago with our 8 month old. Honestly the thought is worse than it actually is, we were lucky he did so well but if they cry/scream it is what it is. We had the spinners to stick too the window which he loved, new toys such as a busy board book, lots of snacks, and a bottle/feed on take off. That sent our son to sleep both ways as we timed his naps for it. We have the muffy baby ear defenders which completely block out noise, I’d highly recommend. Oh and calpol before take off! Good luck, you’ve got this!!
