I've not noticed that Mines gone up but I've not been paying close attention. How much did yours go up?
this probably sounds ridiculous but I’m too scared to check. My payment is due at the end of the money so I don’t have a choice but to confront it *sigh* but I’m seeing online ppl are now having to pay more than $1,000 a month? Insane.

Oof. My payments are only $184. And I can barely afford that. 😩 last time I was aware of the cost of it was before covid and it was 125 I wasn't the one paying it though
I am not sure about the forbearance stuff !!! Did you get an email / mail or something recently ? My colleague also mentioned that she’s in forbidden due to this but I thought it was just her. I have to sign into my portal to check which I’ve been avoiding all month ! But also why haven’t you had a bill since 2016?
oh haha! I was gonna say show me your ways LOL.

I haven’t gotten my bill since I paid this month already. But this month was the same as it’s been. Some repayment plans increase every x amount of years based on your assumed raise expectations, so I’m sure it’s not that uncommon for some people to have increases

I was in forbearance before having all my loans cancelled this past summer (public service forgiveness after 10 years of on time payments including $900 a month for over 2 years at one point).
I called like 10 times over the summer and they said people were all in different stages of having their accounts updated. I advise everyone to look into consolidation if you have multiple loans and stay as up to date as possible with every single change. I know it’s so anxiety causing but make sure you know what’s going on with your accounts. DO NOT TRUST the government to calculate correctly! Do all the math from jump and print out documents detailing every payment you have ever made. Print out your original loan documentation as well.
