Induction Tomorrow Morning!

Looking for any advice/encouragement/positive experiences! I will be 40w6d tomorrow and am being induced. Feeling all of the emotions today as reality of such a life altering change about to happen and nerves as a first time mom! I am 3cm dilated, 90% effaced and his station is 0. So they said I won’t need any cervical ripening and straight to pitocin. Planning on an epidural but not sure when I’ll end up getting it! I just don’t want to get it too early or be too late for it. Cannot believe that tomorrow will be the start of our new adventure!

Hey :) congrats and good luck!! Just wanted to say I had all three of my kids with inductions and they were all extremely positive experiences. I know there’s lots of negative talk surrounding them so don’t let any of that get to you! Being almost 41 weeks and already 3 cm it might go pretty quick! I would suggest staying up and active when you feel the contractions start to hit, so you can help baby engage and speed things along and also helps with pain management too! The best advice my nurses gave me is to call for the epidural once you feel like you know you can’t do 30 more minutes of your current or more pain level. They can’t put the epidural in if you can’t sit still so you don’t want to be too late 😂 especially since things can progress so fast with pitocin. But yeah just moving around and take advantage of eating whatever you want until you get the epidural!

RT to Autumn!

I know inductions are scary from what’s out there but mine (from my first baby) was actually really positive too! Wishing you both the best of luck!

Let’s get these babies out!!!
