Section 8 and other rental assistance?

Hi all! I’m wondering if you can provide some info / resources for rental assistance for back rent ? This is actually for my mom and she said she has reached out to 2 programs and there’s a wait list. She was told to go to the welfare office and inquire about a program. Any other ideas please ?

The link I shared btw isn’t only for single moms! Quite sure anybody can apply for most things listed on the site it’s mainly just about if you are eligible from a financial standpoint
