Outfit ideas for going home from hospital?

I’m trying to plan my outfits for during hospital but wondered what would be best for leaving and heading home in?
I have a big baggy jumper and leggings set but dawned on me that leggings will be no good if I’ve had a c-section I’d imagine.

Anyone got any recommendations for what they wore or places to look? Thanks!

Yeah I wouldn’t go for leggings as you will most likely have a big pad in too! I would go comfy joggers for going home, dark colours in case you bleed on them. Also hospitals are hot, i wish someone told me beforehand! So plan lightweight loungewear, possibly button down for in hospital too. Xx

great thank you! I’ll order some joggers and loose trousers. Got some button down nighties and pyjamas already but might pack some shorts for the heat! Xx

My hospital room was freezing so you shouldn't expect to always be warm.
I wore leggings and a sweatshirt home. It was unseasonably warm.
My cousin had a c-section and she wore maternity pants home

I gave birth in July so just wore a black maxi dress and Birkenstocks x

I went home in my PJ’s after a c-section. Bought some button downs from Primark that were a couple sizes two big. I wish I’d bought a couple of sets as the hospital was so hot - they told me it’s set to body temp so babies don’t get cold! I was sweating the whole time😂

I did wear leggings but maternity ones with the adjustable waistband, and I sized up, and they were a super soft material. Obviously because they were maternity ones the waist was above where a c section would have been.

I had my baby in July so I wore a pair of soft maternity cycling shorts and a baggy top

Maternity leggings after a csection would be fine

But also, I just wore the most comfortable pjs I could find. I wasn’t planning a csection (i was planning a home birth) but ended up in a csection and I found the pjs the best thing to wear home and night gowns for a few days after when I got home!

Late July maxi dress for me

I left in my pj bottoms & a coat ( was in Jan thou). I had slip on trainers on too so was easier to get into them rather than doing laces

I had joggers and over sized t-shirt x

I left in my pj's and spongebob slippers xx

I wore pjs home, i had an emergency c section and the only things that came up above my scar was those. Would have worn a maxi dress but i had to keep my stockings on for 10days too

I just wore my pregnancy leggings and a over sized jumper after mine for weeks afterwards even after I had it as the extra fabric in the waist was comfortable

I wore my maternity leggings after both of my c-sections.. wasn’t too tight - just big knickers that go up over your scar and leggings will be fine x

Avatar

I would go for something loose and baggy. I packed leggings and it dug into my C-section scar. Also hard to put on when you’re in so much pain

Frida disposable underwear was comfortable too.

I wore joggers and an oversized T-shirt home

Something comfy you dont mind bleeding in lol. I wore sweatpants and a sweatshirt material top home. If you’re nursing, then a top that opens and doesn’t have zippers or big buttons that might poke baby is good

Avatar

I went home in my maternity pj bottoms… you’ll only want to change back into them when you get home anyway 🙂

Loose tracksuit bottoms as I had my fida disposable shorts on so leggings was tricky. I then had a loose top and a zip up hoodie

I wore a big maxi dress but it was the end of July 2023 and was hot! Loose high waisted trousers are good over the c section scar x

Leaving in a night dress. For my comfort. You had a c section. Who cares what they say. I wear my PJ’s to food shop.
