Oh! I'm sorry to read that. I bet he's experiencing a kind of addiction to nuggets since they have those ingredients that make you want more and more. That might be very difficult to deal with. If I were in your shoes I will start blending like some nuggets with veggies or just regular chicken and put them in the air fryer... maybe putting some kind of sauce on top ( I would put homemade ketchup without tons of sugar and salt or tzatziki which is yogurt with herbs Idk something your baby will like) and slowly reducing the amount of store bought nuggets maybe he can start enjoying more food and getting more nutrients
I’m with you. My son loves fries 😢
My son hates sauces. So I can’t mix any veggies with sauces. It’s a struggle. Since breakfast is the best time of the day I mix veggies into his eggs. I get him to eat veggies like that. making home made nuggets isn’t working out. He can tell the difference. I normally try to serve food without the nuggets hoping he will try something. But if he doesn’t the nuggets is as backup. The nuggets I get according to the yuka app they are considered good.
Kids are so smart and can recognise the difference. Do you think it’s the taste he prefers or texture? Maybe try another nugget with same texture (store bought!?) and give him that. Will help understand his preference .. and then we could try to get the same in homemade version
Mines is like this too. I give a divided plate and put the chicken nuggets as a “ safe food “ and then put a small bit of what I’m having so the chicken nuggets gives the hunger feeling and begins the eating and then hopefully he will eat the other bit of whatever we are having.
