Sleeping

Since my daughter was born I’ve noticed she sleeps a lot and I don’t know if it’s normal or not? She has 2 naps a day and they can be up to 2/ 3 but on the nighttime it’s a different story. I’ll get her settled and ready for bed time and just like that she’s sound asleep but she sleep for like 11/ 13 hours straight. She’s 7 month now and still continues with this sleeping pattern. Does anybody else’s child do this as well? Or am I overthinking it?

My baby is the same. Though we've just hit a regression at 8 months with frequent waking in the night 🥴 x

@Heidi were you told you had to wake your child up for bottles through the night?

my sons the same. he has 2 1h naps a day and he sleeps from 8-8 everyday! i just make sure he’s been fed before hand. i like to give him a little extra to be on the safe side.

@Levi hey hun, there’s no need to wake her up for feeds now she’s 7 months there’s a window between newborn stage where you’re meant to but Aslong as she’s eating enough through the day there’s no need to be waking her up, if she’s sleeping through honestly enjoy it because my girls 11 months and use to sleep through now she decides she wants comfort boob and I’m just a tired mama wishing she still slept through ( she was sleeping through since she was 3/4 weeks old, HV said it’s fine because I had a really fatty breast milk and she only ever gained weight) xx

My 2 year old still loved her 12-14 hours of sleep!

My boy was exactly the same until around 15 months xx

Sounds like she is a ‘high sleep need’ baby which is completely normal. Some are high and some are low. My girl was great from around 8 weeks to 6 months and then she started waking for a feed again and currently still is 🤦🏼‍♀️ she doesn’t have enough in the day really though (never been a big eater) so I let her have a small top up bottle. I often have to wake her from naps because we have groups etc 🤦🏼‍♀️ At this age the average sleep is 2.5-3.5 worth of day naps and 11-12 hours at night so just keep an eye on her overall sleep in 24 hours and if you are worried then contact your health visitor ☺️

Enjoy a baby that sleeps!
