Advice on how to settle baby

My baby is 3 weeks old, I’m really struggling to settle him and get him down to sleep. Doing all the usual suspects, checking happy, temperature etc but still quite unsettled. Anyone have any settling and sleeping tips that have worked for you?

This may sound odd but my baby is now 5 months nearly and falls asleep listening to the sound of a hoover via YouTube hop this helps x

What happens if you try to feed to sleep? Is he unsettled or just not falling asleep?

Can you try a binky/pacifier, I would shush in my baby’s ear while rocking him swaddled at that age. Or I would put him in the carrier and just start doing what I mentioned until eventually he fell asleep. If it wasn’t hunger, trapped gas, or a dirty diaper, it was that my baby was usually overtired and just needed to go to sleep to be all better 🫠

bouncing gently on a yoga ball with Bub in my arms works every time if I’m struggling.

My little man turns 6 weeks tomorrow. Usually if he is really fussy I do the 5 s’s Swaddling Side or stomach position (hold them close to you) Shushing (or white noise) Swinging or rocking (my son also likes bouncing) Sucking (breast if you breastfeed or a paci if you use one) I hope this helps

I put my baby in the carrier a lot for the first 2.5 months for naps or contact naps 😅

Usually feed to sleep on the rocking chair with a gentle back and fourth motion with my LO works

I used to cuddle my boy, slightly rock him and rub his cheek and he’d gradually fall sleep then i’d transfer him to his next to me cot, even now at 14 weeks he loves his cheek being rubbed to comfort him x
