My Husband's Sister Claiming he used to fuck her

Recently my sister in law has been claiming my husband (her full brother) used to fuck her when they were kids when she gets drunk. She sort of acts like she's kidding. I don't know what to think of it. She's a bit crazy and can be a raging partier, alcoholic with a bit of a dark side. I'm separated from my husband but not bc of this. This is a new thing. His step mom found out she was doing this and talked to him and said he was visibly bothered and disturbed by her saying these things. What am I supposed to think? What would you think? We have 3 small children together ages 4 and under. 2 boys and a girl.

Honestly… I lean always towards believing women… and I mean a lot of time people aren’t crazy for no reason… it’s because something happened to them that traumatized them to act a certain way… and people who drink sometimes drink to forget… especially if she was drinking underage… it could be her only way she knew how to cope…

And also sleeping with someone when they are under the influence is taking advantage and could be considered rape… not just fucking. Because you can’t give consent while drinking.

I need to clarify when I said "used to fuck her when they were kids when she gets drunk" i meant she claims this when she gets drunk NOW. She is not saying he'd fuck her when she was drunk then. She claims when she gets drunk like today that he used to fuck her but she doesn't say she was drunk when he'd do it.

I hope that makes sense

Oh so like she is telling a deep dark secret when she’s drunk… I mean yeah that sounds more damning in the way that she hasn’t processed it enough and needs therapy if she is only saying it when she’s drunk… it’s like the only way she can face it…

@Lyss so do you think it's true? I have a brother also and it makes me want to vomit and never be ok again to even think about saying/accusing him of something so vile, drunk or sober I couldn't do it.

I mean it’s very possible. It happens more than I think and unfortunately the porn industry loves to do (step)brother/(step)sister shit so unfortunately would not surprise me. But I can’t say for sure based on what’s said but I would say it’s likely

Alcohol is known as a “truth serum” for many reasons my friends and I joke if he won’t a serious question you wanna know the answer to, get him drunk 💁🏻‍♀️ 95% of the time it works. (They didn’t get him drunk on purpose though just waited for a night he coincidentally was drunk to ask what they needed) We have the ability to think and deceive and feel denial and lie when sober but when drunk, it’s very hard to do that. Most people blurt the truth out drunk, unknowingly because their walls are down, their guard is down. I somewhat believe her. His reaction by being “bothered and disturbed” to me sounds like he’s shocked she even remembers, because it was so long ago. Rather than it didn’t happen

I would believe her. Women rarely just make these things up. As another comment said, it’s likely deep rooted trauma that keeps coming back up.

Avatar

Why would she make that up?
It sounds like the part you think is crazy about her, could be a trauma response.
I’m not saying she’s saying the truth because I don’t know her but I mean….i believe she’s saying the truth.
Obviously he would be disturbed if she said something like that, no one wants to be accused of rape, let alone raping their sister.

In high school there was a girl this happened to and she would joke about it also. The school had to get involved because no one was listening at home.

How is your husband & his sisters relationship? Just curious
But I would believe her as well!

Avatar

Do you think you’ll bring it up to your husband? I think you should. Share it in a way of your sister keeps saying this and I find it interesting. Can you talk to me about it

Avatar

If someone lied about that they’d have to be 1 sick individual. I think she’s telling the truth to be honest, you need to find out by any means

Avatar

I’d speak to your husband about it and see his reaction and what he says. She deff could be telling the truth , but also some people are just crazy and say crazy things for negative attention. Would definitely speak to your husband about it considering you have kids together.

@Ragine they have a close relationship. They're Irish twins, only 11 months apart. She's older. He listens to her and respects her and takes her advice. Something he doesn't do with everyone else. They hang out a lot and he's very close with her husband as well.

@Gabrielle I'm thinking about it but I feel like he'll try to brush it off and say she's weird or something

Avatar

@Shelby would you be worried about your kids being around your husband if this was accused?

Avatar

Yes, I think any parent would be. That’s why I’d sit down and have a serious talk with him about it to see his reaction and what he has to say about it. I’d also want to have a conversation with his sister about it while she was sober and not drunk.

“I feel like he’ll try to brush it off and say she’s weird or something”

If I was a man and my sister was going around telling people that I was a paedophile incestuous rapist, I think the last thing I’d be doing is downplaying it and putting it down to her being weird! 🥴

That is a serious, serious accusation! Any innocent man would be angry af and demand to clear their name and would likely go to said person’s house and demand to speak to them to get them to admit they were lying! I don’t think I would rest until said person told the truth and then I’d personally take them to every single person they told that lie to and admit they lied.

When you said his step mom spoke to him and he was bothered/disturbed about it, did he actually confront his sister?

How exactly did this confession come out? Was she drunk one day and just blurted out they used to fuck? What was the context behind it? And what was your reaction? It’s hardly
a funny joke to pretend to have sex with your brother! 🥴
