Naps

Do you find that if you miss your normal nap window, and you try to put your toddler down later, it’s a disaster and they cry and refuse to sleep? Is this due to being over tired?

That only seems to happen to me for bedtime. Naps - my kids have always done down faster because they’re more tired. Overtired would be like going from 7am to 4pm without their usual nap lol, but at that point just keep them up until 5:30 for an earlier no nap bedtime and reset the next day 🤷‍♀️

@Ashlyn ok! So today she woke up at 7:45 and I usually put her down no later than 1:30. But I went out and left her with hubby, so he didn’t think to put her down. (Sigh)…so I tried to put her down at 3:00 and she was not having it! So I said forget it. We will just go to bed at 7:30 tonight. Hopefully dinner won’t be a mad house lol!

Yes but sometimes it’s just better to put them to bed earlier and skip nap depending on how they’re acting..

@TeTe Yeah at this point skip the nap and mentally brace yourself for a rough evening 😅

@Ashlyn ok 😩😩😩😂😂😂

@Celestial ok, I’m going with an earlier bedtime today. Thank you!

Yes this happened to me!!! I’ve learned to skip the nap and do an earlier bedtime.

For us, if no nap by 1:30 then no nap the whole day or is too late for bedtime later, we just do bedtime earlier that day too!

@Kia @Cibeles yes!! This seems to be the general consensus. Good idea, lol!! She’ll be in bed early for sure. She is all the way turned up right now!! Send help!!
