Amount of sleep

Has anyone's baby slept through the entire night? My daughter is 8 weeks and we normally do our last feed between 10 and 11. Then she sleeps about 5-6 hours and will wake up to eat once during the night. Last night she ate around 10:30 and didn't wake up until 7am!!! My husband and I didn't realize what time it was at first but then his alarm went off for work. Idk if this was just a one time thing or if maybe I'll get a few nights to just sleep now. Has this happened to anyone else?

Last night we upped our daughter’s “last” bottle to 5oz (from 4oz) and she slept from 8pm-3:30am (normally woke up around 12:15am). I’m asking the same thing - 1 time occurrence or new pattern 🤷🏼‍♀️

@Dara my baby has done that twice now and every time I try to rack my brain as to what was different to get it. Not a clue 🥲🥲

Did your pediatrician say you could do this for nights or is this something you just decided to do? With my 1st I didn't get to do this until she was one and not relying solely on formula for her meals. Just wondering because my guy is eating every 3 hours.

@Cassidy yep! My daughter has been gaining weight really well and has plenty of wet/poopy diapers so the ped said she's fine sleeping long stretches at night 👍 I don't ever set an alarm at night because she normally wakes up to eat but last night she just slept! She didn't wake up too upset either. A little cranky but I just changed her diaper and she ate and has been taking her normal morning nap 🤣

*knocking on wood* mine has slept through the night the last almost 2 weeks from 9p till I wake her for the day at 6am 😅 It’s def been a blessing

@Lauren oooh maybe it's my turn! 🤣🙌🤞

@Brittany It comes out of nowhere and when it happens, you start seeing things in color and life makes sense again 😂😂😂😂😂😂

My girl is 9 weeks old and she's been sleeping about 6-7 hours overnight for about a week or two and even slept almost 9 hours last night.

My daughter will be 8 weeks on Thursday and we’ve been starting to see her sleeping longer too. Last week she slept 9 hours without waking, and since then we’ve seen mostly two 5-6 hour stretches separated by a feed. Last night she did wake up around 12:30 to eat, but then slept until 8am! I think as long as they’re gaining weight appropriately they’re probably just starting to adjust to sleeping all night

5-6 hours is GREAT! We get 4-5 around here, then about every 2 hours til the morning. He’s almost 3 months…we’re gonna try his own room tonight bc I fear we are waking each other up.
