My 3 month old has been diagnosed with baby eczema and for the last week I’ve been using baby aquaphor and aveno eczema cream and it hasn’t gone away. His pediatrician recommended for me to use hydrocortisone 1% cream but I’m hesitant on using it. Has anyone had a good experience with using that cream or have any alt?

Hi I actually have eczema myself and hydrocortisone mainly helps with the itching, I wouldn’t want to use it on my baby just yet. I actually got a ointment for my baby for the baby acne she has and I started using it on my eczema and it has helped a lot!

Try hush honey hush body butter. The unscented kind

You can find it on TikTok, Etsy, and FB. As well as hushhoneyhush.com

Get a water filter every where you use water and get this stuff called bag balm. I have dermatitis and it work good

Perhaps using cleaner products would help, I know the brand Weleda is super clean and has products for babies with eczema, also tubby todd is super clean. I would try it and see how it goes.

i’ve used hydrocortisone on my baby as well as triamcinolone. it helped a lot .. also use clear detergents for baby’s clothes.. I used the aquaphor clear baby wash for her baths

Thank you all for the recommendations!!

what kind of ointment?

the 2 pictures. That’s the brand. I have only tried the multipurpose ointment. But if that one helps I’m more than sure the eczema one will help.

Breastmilk helped lots in the 1st two years! The mustela staph lotion is what we use now as I don't produce much milk to use as a lotion throughout the day ahaha

Using a water filter for baths and beef tallow (unscented) has helped my baby so much.

Oatmeal baths helped my baby. She had it for the first year and it’s completely gone.
Also breastmilk don’t know if you are doing it but it helps a lot on their skin.

I used 1% hydrocortisone and baby boy’s eczema was clear after 3 days. I also use the breastmilk trick on his face.

Tubby Todd all over ointment is Magic. I buy it for every friend that has a baby. We still use it every night and my baby is 4.5 years old. It also solves baby acne, cradle cap, itchy rashes etc.

I use a combination of the 3 when my daughters eczema flares up. But I didn’t use hydrocortisone until she was 1 shes 6 now. The cream helped her out a lot applying twice a day when she was an infant. Just recently she was prescribed triamcinolone and it helped out a lot as she had a really bad flare up on her face.

Try some bag balm

hmm, I totally get the hesitation, but I've heard hydrocortisone can really help some babies, just make sure to follow the doc's instructions!
this is what the 'Heal Baby Care App' mentioned… hope it helps!
"It's understandable to feel hesitant about using hydrocortisone cream on your baby. Many parents have found it effective for managing eczema flare-ups, but it's important to use it as directed by your pediatrician. In addition to hydrocortisone, you might consider using a thicker emollient like CeraVe or Eucerin, which can help lock in moisture and soothe the skin.
Have you noticed any specific triggers for your baby's eczema, such as certain fabrics or foods?"
