Induction

I’ll be induced on the 31st of March and I’m just wondering what to take with me. My midwife said i should take comforting things from home as it may take some time to get things going. The induction letter says I should take my own pillow etc… I don’t want to end up in the hospital over packed what would you suggest I take? Xx

It depends on what the hospital provides.

I went in for induction and was sent home after 2ish hours, took only my water bottle which wasn’t really necessary. My contractions few hours later. I was 40+2

Good luck xx you’ve got this mama

Personally I’d bring something to do as I was waiting round for ages, we got bored!! & also I didn’t take a pillow but I really didn’t sleep much in the hospital. I would just take the stuff you’d pack normally plus maybe put an extra bag in the car with more clothes. But definitely bring stuff to do!
Oh also- just good for birth in general- take a big water bottle with a straw. Birth is hard & thirsty work & if you have gas & air it gives you a dry mouth. If you have a birth partner with you, they can literally feed this to you so you don’t have to worry about it x

Eye mask so you can get some sleep and headphones/ear plugs to block out the noise

I didn't take my own pillow, but I did take a yoga mat so I could move around on the floor comfortably

My induction lasted 5 days, so I basically packed nothing as I was going home in the afternoon to mind my business, cannot possibly expect me to pack for 5 days like that's a holiday 😆 my bag was basically empty I only had my baby stuff, a pair of slippers, phone charger, some toiletries and extra snacks. I knew I wasn't ready to give birth, but I was high risk, so I just went with the flow.
