Anyone got any tips for slowly transitioning out of pumping?
My baby is 8 months and I've exclusively pumped since 4 after he refused the boob ( I had mastitis). I pump 6 times a day (on the hour every 4 pretty much for 20 mins). I don't want to finish completely but I need sleep and to be able to live my life outside of pumping. I don't know if I should pump less time or longer durations. Has anyone managed to pump down to 2/3 a day and stay there? I wouldn't mind doing a morning lunch and night one just to give him some of the good juice for a bit longer.

I have been there. Start reducing one pump and come to 5. See how your body reacts. It wont make a huge difference coming from 6 pumps to 5 pumps. Do this for few days then reduce one more pump. Dont directly jump to 3 from 6. I did this and am at 1 pump a day after reducing gradually. But keep in mind, supply will drop a bit once you start reducing the number of pumps

I've managed to drop to 4 by increasing the time in-between throughout the day and I no longer pump after 8. I am struggling dropping another pump as my boobs are just too full so now I'm decreasing the times of each pump to 15 mins and doing it that way till I can drop another xx

I weened with my first child rather quickly and didn’t have an issue with engorgement or clogged milk ducts. I believe I waited longer between sessions (I pumped every 2 hours during the day for 8 months!) and then after a week of lengthening the time between I just kind of stopped. My baby was 13 months and I think my body just knew it was time.
