Hi all,
My bub has mastered rolling from her back to tummy but seems to refuse going from tummy to back. She gets frustrated at tummy time after 10mins or so because she's unable to crawl / move forward but never tries to roll out of tummy time herself. How can I help her learn to roll out of tummy time when she's had enough?

She'll get it. She kind of just has to figure it out on her own. It can be hard, but letting her struggle a bit on her tummy will encourage her to move. Obviously don't let her get to the point of panicked and distressed, but a little struggle is what will encourage her to push out of it.

it took several months for my daughter to learn belly to back after she learned back to belly. and she only seemed to like rolling belly to back when she was on a soft surface like my bed lol. you can look up YouTube videos on how to encourage learning to roll either direction, but she still won't do it till she's good and ready (:

Back to belly is harder so the fact that she can do it is cause for celebration. How old is she? I’m sure she’ll be able to do both in no time. And honestly my baby hated tummy time but Ik it’s for a greater good so I let her cry until I think she can’t bare it anymore

hmm, maybe try showing her how to roll by doing it yourself a few times, like make it a fun game or something!
this is what the 'Heal Baby Care App' mentioned… hope it helps!
"It's great to hear that your baby has mastered rolling from back to tummy! To help her learn to roll from tummy to back, you can encourage her by gently guiding her through the motion during playtime. You can also place toys just out of reach to motivate her to turn and reach for them, which may prompt her to roll.
Additionally, try to make tummy time more enjoyable by varying the surfaces and positions, or by joining her on the floor to engage her. How often does she have tummy time, and does she seem to enjoy it overall?"
@Melissa i hope so. She gets frustrated so I help roll her back but she instantly rolls back on to her belly and starts whining/crying again 😅 the only way to break that cycle is for me to take her to read a book or do something else 😅
@Sarah great to know thankyou! Do you remember how long after back to belly she learnt to crawl?
@Jody shes only 4 months old but has been rolling to her tummy easily for a good 3 weeks now 🤣 she did roll belly to back when she was 2 months old on a few occasions but I haven't seen it in weeks so im guessing she's forgotten how to do it 😅

Honestly your best bet is to let her struggle and figure it out herself as much as she will allow. The more you help the less she will be able to do it herself... It's hard, but they need that drive to do it on their own, and if she's already rolling halfway it really won't be too long!

That’s how my daughter was , she started w belly to back and as soon as she learned the other way she stopped. Lol but now she does both ways sometimes but she mostly does black to belly so maybe that’s the same case. Shes 6 months now
