Any other rings make you fee like that? Is it too small maybe? Doesn’t sound like an allergic reaction to me.

@Medina I don't wear ring much so idk I'll try it and see when I get home from work and update you on it ( I do have alot of rings I just stop wearing due to my job and just started wearing this one cuase it's more special then others )

I would try to wear another one to see if it’s your engagement ring specifically that’s giving you the pain, or just the fact that you’re wearing a ring. Try and check the size difference too, if there’s any.

@Medina my engagement right is 8.5 (slightly to big ) and my other rings are 9 I think and ik I have a 7 and an 8 for the sizes

I’m no expert of course. But try wearing a bigger ring than a smaller ring and see if they give you any pain. Then you’ll be able to see if it’s wearing a ring or specifically your engagement one.

@Medina my ring size is an 8 but i told him 8.5 to be safe cuase I do knock my hands at work so incase of it getting knocked and my finger getting a little swollen I can remove it still (I don't wear it when I'm stocking what I'm not a stocker 😒 but I get pulled to do it so I take it off for that )

What metal is your ring made from?

I had an allergy to mine. I ended up with a rash where it was and swelling. Was the nickel mixed in the gold. I can wear sterling silver.

@Aggs sliver I belive in side says s925 r

@Helen if I'm not wrongnits sliver

@Donna I think it's sliver I don't get a rash or swelling when the pain starts

So I know this may sound odd because often when talking about ring size you only hear about it hurting if it's too small, but my ring was too big and it made my hand ACHE. Like it would be fine for a while, but after a few hours my finger would get sore and throb. Luckily the place we got it from had a warranty so we were able to get it sized down for free.
When I tried looking it up all I found was if it's too small and several places saying rings don't hurt if they are too big. But I knew it wasn't too small, so we sized down and I never had the pain again.
If you're fairly certain it's not an allergy then based on your comment about wanting it bigger in case your hand swells it might just be too big.

@Kate I got it sized for a ring when I was pregnant and it was an 8.5 a little snug but not enough to go to a 9 I've never had this happen before, with my larger rings

Do you wear other rings all the time? I'd never had it before my engagement ring either, but I didn't wear other rings consistently.
I don't think it started right away with my engagement ring, but its been several years. I think it was after like a week or two of wearing it every day that it started to hurt. I'd take it off until it felt better and then a few hours after I put it back on it would hurt again.

@Kate that's pretty much what happening with me I'm not sure If it's a weird allergic reaction or if possible carpal tunnel but it's never happened before I got pregnant and had my son , it was happening when pregnant but I assumed it was swelling but I'm not having any now

@Medina my hand feels off after wearing it while I slept that's for sure

I worked with luxury jewellery for over 5 years. The size looks fine so it’s highly unlikely to be that. Although I’d always recommend taking off any rings during the night anyway.
Silver allergies are quite common, but they would normally leave topical symptoms, such as discolouration or a rash, rather than what you’re describing.
I’d be inclined to say that this isn’t related to your rings but rather a postpartum physiological change. Especially with hormones changing and slowly going back to pre-pregnancy levels. I’d book a doc appointment if possible so they can investigate.
The only other thing it could be is the ring rubbing against the other ones u sometimes wear, creating pressure and therefore pain.
I hope you feel better soon, that must be so annoying :(

I only ever where the one n rarely take off due to likeing it, and cuase it's my engagement ring

Try a silicone or stone ring, see if that helps. I did silicone for a while

@Elaine I been wearing my ring for the last 2 days and it hasn't happened again (knock on wood) but when it happens is random , like when I'm going to bed with it on I get a sharp shooting pain or when I'm just relaxing doing nothing really other then scrolling on My phone not ever really when I'm using my hand but does happen when I do use my hands also
