I originally had my little boys 8 week jabs scheduled for Thursday but have since been offered the chance to go away for a few days - given the fact its lovely weather, maternity pay is low etc I jumped at the chance without thinking about the appointment.
I've just rang the doctors to reschedule and the judgement and snottiness I received has made me feel so so guilty about delaying them for a week.
Will this 6 day delay be really bad for baby? Am I being stupid for going away(uk still)?

My baby is 8 weeks on the 18th, but the doctor booked his appointment for the 28th and they said the delay isn’t a problem.

I don’t think it matters unless you don’t get them done xx

In reality too, you can choose to not vaccinate so it's not the worst outcome. You'll find all health professionals will push for it but at the end of the day it's your choice x

Pay no attention to doctors receptionist I think they get paid more to be snotty and judgemental tbh get away and don’t even worry about it a week won’t make any difference x

I had appointment today at 8 weeks exactly and we booked a holiday for the weekend knowing she’d be vaccinated and any side effects settled, well the doctors cancelled my appointment and moved it to Friday (the day we go!) I rang up and they were snotty with me for trying to book it earlier this week and would only offer appoints next week - nurse said ‘it’s around 8 weeks not 8 weeks exactly they’re not late and if I want them done on 8 weeks exactly to pay privately’
You get judgement for being over but then also for wanting on time - take no notice x

I think a week is fine, there’s a certain cut off for certain ones (maybe rotavirus) but deffo one week later isn’t a problem. Our baby had her first 8 weeks + 2 days and then her second is when she’s 13 weeks xx

No absolutely not. Delaying is fine, not getting them at all is a different story in my opinion. The only difference is you have to wait 4 weeks between doses but again this ‘delay’ in doses doesn’t matter at all. It would only be maybe a consideration if going away abroad and wanting them done by a certain time. 8 week is just a rough guide, not many babies would get them on the exact day! Mine is booked for 8.5 weeks old. The only thing you can’t do is have them earlier than 8 weeks.
You should not receive any judgement for this. Perhaps it was less about a delay in the vaccines and just annoyed (unjustifiably so) at the admin to move it.
Do not feel guilty! Enjoy your time away!
