Heavy periods

Does anyone else have crazy, heavy periods? I have clockwork periods to the day, but they’re so dang heavy. Like today, I soaked through a tampon, the pad, and my period underwear in a matter of hours.

Mine is the same! Even from when I was 14 I knew exactly when they would start. I had to change my pad between each class or I’d soak through. Now the first 2-3 days I have to empty my diva cup every 2 hours or it overflows. They’re extremely painful so I’ve thought about an endometriosis diagnosis but I don’t have some of the other symptoms that go along with it so I’m not sure if they’ll take it seriously

Mine are heavy and painful so I'm on birth control to prevent them. I'm have an ultrasound done later this week to see if I have an ovarian cyst or something.

Sometimes I think it can just be your hormones are a little wacky. Thinks you might be able to correct with plant medicine. Or diet.

I would talk to your OB or Primary Care about it. They can ask you questions and do evaluations to determine if it could be endometriosis or something else. I had an evaluation with my PCP last week and he referred more for a pelvic ultrasound because he's thinking it could be an ovarian cyst and an ultrasound would be able to tell.

that’s the thing about mine too is I don’t think I have endometriosis because I literally have none of the other symptoms. It’s also super easy for me to get pregnant

I used to have heavy periods until I got on the IUD birth control. I no longer have my periods 😭

I would look into changing your diet and taking a look at your hormones. There are holistic ways to deal with this

Have you looked into pcos?

Get checked at the docs for blood works and a uterus scan it could be fibroids or just are you adjusting after birth? Sometimes low iron can play a role, take lots of multivitamins to help in controlling this other factors could be thyroid, basic hormone levels etc but no way of knowing without blood screening.

Mine is the same for half of my week long period. 🙄 I have to use disposable period underwear.

I noticed my periods eased up when I stayed on a consistent low carb diet, exercised 4 days a week and cut out coffee. Started drinking red raspberry leaf tea regularly and stopped drinking milk.

I do have bad cramps. What other symptoms do you have with it?

Avatar

yes, that was ruled out earlier in life

Same! If I’ve been sat down for a while there’s been several times when I stand up and it just runs down my legs 🤢 and I wear the nighttime pads all the time including the day
