We switched to the seat, but still facing me, she hates been laid down (reflux) so this made the pram something she loved again. Not sure when they should face forward but 6 months makes sense to me as that's when their eye sight is much better
My little one is nearly 16 weeks and she is still in her carry cot, she’s quite small and on the 5th percentile. Both my older kids were in the seat attachment by about 12 weeks (they were 98th percentile). It varies baby to baby, my plan is to wait a couple more weeks and then give her a trial run to the local shop and see how she is x
My girl was 4 months old the other day and I changed about a month ago. However my travel system allows the bit that is sat upright to face me and face outwards. So I have her in the upright bit (which has 3 different settings so she can be up, middle and laid down) facing me, but when she’s a bit older I’ll start to turn it around so she can look outwards. I have her facing me mainly because she has reflux and sometimes brings milk back up like 3 hours after a feed (she has a feed around every 4 hours) and I don’t like the thought of it being all over her and me not knowing. Plus she fights sleep because she is shockingly nosy and alert lol
I’m still using the bassinet and she is 4 months old. It lasts until they are about 6 months old. Don’t feel like you need to rush to use it.
I’m still using the bassinet, baby seems to like it fine! We have thought about moving up to the seat shortly but to be honest I’m a) too lazy to remember and then it’s time to go for a walk and the bassinet’s already there and b) want to get the most use of the bassinet as possible!
@Coadie my girl seems comfortable but just seeing everyone switching makes me think I’m doing something wrong! It does have different inclines. My girl loves sitting up as she’s very nosey x
We've been in one for about a month and he's 4 months old. The back reclines fully on mine and has 4 height settings so at the moment he's slightly tilted up so he can see what's going on which makes him much happier. He's very nosy lol
@Emily every baby is so different please don't worry. My little boy has had serious FOMO since birth that's the only reason we switched early
@Emily if your baby is comfortable in the cot part of the pram and it small then I wouldn't change it, it also depends on the pram as some you shouldn't change until 6 months as it's bad for their back, I only changed because mine is suitable from birth and was a pain in the arse getting in the car, I also have a big baby but I still lay him flat
I’ll be switching to the seat soon as my lo is nearly too big for carry cot but he’s still content in it for now holding out as long as possible. He’ll still be facing me in the seat though I didn’t switch my eldest to forward facing till after a year x
I changed because it was getting warmer and carry cot too up most of my boot. Tbh whilst she enjoys the new seat, seeing around and facing me but she always wants to pull herself up more now she's on a slight incline. She sleeps a little less on walks now. Do whatever works best for you both, its not permanent and you can change back whenever x
I kept my son parent facing until he was 2.5 and outgrew the travel system!
I took my baby out in the pram yesterday though and she was proper wind swept, even being reclined down and in her foot muff. So even though a sunny day still need a wooly hat. I do think they are more protected in carry cot
I changed mine when he was 2mo old. He’s too nosey and soon as he started having longer wake windows, when we was out, he hated lying down in the carry cot - he much preferred to be sat up a tad so he can see what’s going on in the world and I’ve noticed it tires him out more too!

My bassinet says up to 10kg and he’s nearly 7kg. I don’t want to rush him, he’s only a baby for so long so whilst he’s happy to lay down and he’s within the weight limit I’m keeping him in the bassinet!
Some people just rush into everything 😂 the bassinet typically lasts until 6 months at least . My girl is almost 5 months and I will still be using it till she starts sitting up . That’s when you should be moving them to the big pram . Unless you have a massive baby that doesn’t fit in the bassinet anymore .
