Sleep sacks vs Blanket

Hello! I’m putting together my son’s birthday wishlist to share with family and friends and it occurred to me that he will grow out of his current sleep sack at 15ish months. Should I get another one or just switch to a blanket after he outgrows this one? I’m worried a blanket is just gunna fall off in his sleep and he’s gunna wake up cold! What’s everyone’s experience and preferences? When did you switch to a blanket for your little one?

I transitioned my kiddos out of sleep sake once they could walk as it is considered a tripping hazard. That being said you can get footed sleep sakes as well, which is a good option. I started giving a blanket from 12 months old, it will come off of them or get kicked off. They won’t start using the blanket as a blanket until closer to 3 years old (in my experience). So we keep their rooms between 70-75 degrees and dress them in appropriate pjs. My kiddos also get weirdly hot in their sleep so that was another reason I stopped using sleep sacks.

My 21m is still in bags and we may try a duvet this summer. I’m not rushing tho!
