Does your toddler still wear vests under clothes?

And if yes when do you plan on stopping? My son has been potty trained since October so we bought long sleeve vests without poppers as it was winter but wondering if we need to continue with vests under his clothes or just stop altogether now? Or do you just put them in vests for winters going forward as an extra layer for warmth? I don’t know why I’m finding this so hard to work out, it’s a vest 😂

We live in the north east, so it’s not been that warm yet, mine still wears a vest and some days is still wearing a jumper, but I also have thinner long sleeves tops for him x

My daughter is still wearing a vest like that under her clothes as she’s potty trained too. I’ll probably buy them until she’s older, like 8 or something. I remember wearing them all the time as a kid in the winter

Mine usually wears them under a long sleeve top and a jumper when needed. The past few days I've just been putting him in a long sleeve top. Today he just had a short sleeve top, no vest. I think as the weather starts to improve I'll stop with the vests, but def will go back to using when autumn comes

Yes but a proper vest like what we’d buy for ourselves (vest top style)

Yes my 2 year old still does and I think once she’s been potty trained (we are doing so now) I’ll stop with vests as I only like them as I’ve always found they hold the nappies up for longer etc. I’ve noticed in shops they don’t seem to do many 2-3 year old vests either so was thinking of stopping once she outgrows her current ones

We stopped popping up underneath at 9mths! Couldn’t be faffed with that anymore!

I’ll probably still continue with the vests without poppers. We use poppers now as we haven’t started potty training yet.

Depending on the weather we will switch between short sleeve and sleeveless vests as the weather improves over the next few weeks/months. When it's properly warmer then we will leave a vest. I will definitely use them again for winter though 😊

Yes will use a vest even after potty training. I think it’s quite common for children to need them for a few years yet (obviously weather dependent). My daughter runs quite cold so it’s an easy layer to add without bulking up too much

Yes ours does we usually stop in may each year . But we only use short sleeve

Sorry for jumping on your post, any tips on potty training? 🙂

Thanks all! Looks like I need to buy some more vests then! Did not know they wore them until like 8+ years?! I grew up abroad so think it was different for me.

@Fiona gosh not sure as every child is so different! We used A LOT of positive reinforcement for even sitting on the potty with clothes on to start. Used stickers for each step like sticker for pulling down pants and trousers, sticker for sitting on it, sticker for doing something on it, sticker for telling us he needed to go etc. he loves stickers so that worked well. He now goes off and uses the big toilet (with a toddler seat he puts on himself when he needs to go) by himself! And we just follow to wipe if he said he was going to poo. So I guess my main advise is stickers 😂 sorry if that’s not helpful. I would add that his speech is very good and he basically told us he wanted to use the potty and showed interest etc so we just followed his lead. I think defo wait till they are ready and willing. And only other thing I’d say is there will be accidents, lots of them to start! Just roll with it! We did pants from the start no naked from waist down stuff

@Jen that’s amazing! Well done to you guys and your wee boy 💙
