Tips for half asian hair care

I’m Mexican, white (French), and black. My fiancé is pure asian (Chinese). I give birth to our baby girl (first kid) in a couple weeks and have no idea what to expect hair wise. But I’m interested to know if anyone’s got any tips on how to take care of that level of mixed hair. My hair is fluffy, dry, thick and curly. His is thin, straight, and oily. I’m not sure if i should treat her hair like my own regardless or if I should wait and see what her hair combo ends up being. (I want to know what hair products I’ll need to buy in the future, I already have my hair care from when I was younger listed to order, but I also have Asian hair care products in order just in case).

I can see why you just want to be prepared, but I personally would not order anything in advance because her hair has potential to not be the same as yours or your husbands, or may have a variety of different textures! I would personally stick to coconut oil or something along those lines till her hair texture comes through as both of your products could end up not being suitable!

Hi. My kids are half Chinese (dad) and I’m Puerto Rican, black, Native American, and Irish. I leave their hair alone other than the occasional washing. I use Aveeno curly hair shampoo and conditioner. My eldest is two, I use a detangler when I’m doing her hair but otherwise I still just leave it. I can send you pics of my kids hairs as well mine, they seem to be different. My sons seems more curly and thicker while my daughter’s is more dense and starts straight but curls halfway through. But it has grown so long from me just letting it do its own thing. It goes mid back. As to what to expect, it will definitely be straight for a couple months then it’ll start to wave and get its curl pattern. Or she might have bone straight hair like baba.
