Child care subsidy

Hi there, Does anyone know if you can claim the child care subsidy if you’re still on mat leave? I won’t be due back to work until end of July but my Lb has been offered 2 days at our preferred day care centre (highly sought after) and we were thinking of sending him just so we can guarantee ourselves a spot for when I’m back to work. First time mum so not too sure. Thank you x

I was just looking and I think you can here’s the link I was looking at and it seems like yes you can. https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/recognised-activities-for-child-care-subsidy?context=41186

Yes you just leave your activity hours on centrelink as they are as if you’re still working if you intend to return :)

Awesome, thank you so much!!

I questioned this when I had my second child whether I’d have to pull my first out cause I wasn’t “working” the person I spoke to from Centrelink said maternity leave is still classed as working and to put the activity hours as what ever your usual hours are for working.
