What do people use to clean carpets with when potty training?

We’re going to attempt potty training this week and absolutely dreading the mess as our whole rented flat has carpets. What do people use to get rid of the urine and worse poo?

I would have the potty in the toilet only. I think the advice now is to use the potty in the toilet anyway. That’s what we have been doing just to make it easier to transition to the toilet and it’s been ok. My son will be 3 in May and we’ve been using the potty over the last month or so. I waited to train him and there’s been no accidents because he’s able to tell me when he needs a pee or poo so I take him into the bathroom. We just keep nappy off in the house and I’ve found he always tells me but if he’s got a nappy on he won’t. If your LO is able to tell you then you might find there’s less accidents xx

Lay down throw blankets or beach towels in the most common areas so you can easily just pick them up and throw them in the wash. Much easier than blotting up and scrubbing pee that will almost inevitably end up everywhere at the beginning

I will be using a carpet cleaner once my little one has got the hang of it 😂

We put a puppy training pad under the potty, and covered the sofa in them, we also had a waterproof messy mat in the living room (only needed that for 2 days), saved a lot of accidents especially the sofa! Xx

Potty on hard floor only, but we have a vax spot wash for accidents 😆
