Please HELP

I have been on a strict dairy and soy free diet for almost 5 weeks but my baby still reacts (blood in her poos). I thought that this time was enough to clear out the MP. I don’t know what else to do, I’m barely eating anything, feel like giving up on breastfeeding but that breaks my heart. Should I stop eating egg as well? Thank for your help

Aw, that's a rough one. My baby has a dairy and egg allergy, which we found out by removing eggs after trying a dairy free diet for around 5 weeks as well. Maybe just try without eggs for a few days and see if it improves?

What allergens are you still eating? I find when doing an elimination diet, it's best to start with one group so you know which is causing the issue. Do you have an dietary issues outside of your LOs? Might help to get a full work up for allergies done so you can identify quicker. I hate to say it but milk and gluten are some of the worst culprits, I'm on a gluten free, low-lactose diet and still have digestive issues, but they are far more manageable now than they've ever been. Hope you find the triggers soon! Failing that it's probably healthier for babe to be on a suitable formula alternative.

@Ragnhild aw thanks, I will remove egg too. Thank you for your help ⭐️

To get it out of breast milk can take 3-4 weeks. I would continue dairy and soy free and give it 6 weeks. If no improvement then cut out eggs. I EBF for a year dairy free and it took 6 weeks for the specks of blood to disappear from her poop. I asked pediatrics if I could eat it and pump and dump like alcohol but they said it stays in the breast milk a long time and it doesn’t work like that.

I had the same and had to remove egg too, made such a difference. I now don't know if she's just allergic to just egg or milk and soy too but I'm continuing all 3. It was soo hard at the beginning but honestly it gets easier and you can find plenty of ideas online of what to eat or substitutes

Blood in poos has many causes, it is not always an allergy. Better to go back to your GP.

@Roz thank you, I will keep trying 🙏🏻

@Jelena aww thank you so much ⭐️

@𝔾𝕚𝕤𝕖𝕝𝕝𝕖 thanks 😊 but I think it’s related to the allergy as it stops once I start neocate

I have been dairy, soya, egg & wheat free for months! Still reacting!! He’s a month and half off weaning and I’m cared he’s gonna be allergic to everything
