I went back when my first was 10 months. I went back 4 days per week so she went to nursery 4 mornings and was collected by family members for the afternoons, as we’re very lucky to have that support. My daughter absolutely loves nursery and has since her first day there, she’s made great progress and gets to do activities that we don’t do at home. It was one of the best things we’ve done for her. I’ll be going back to work when my newborn is 10 months and he’ll be going to nursery too.
I’ll be honest… I never went back. I ended up opening my own little business. It’s never easy leaving them is it 😭🤍
I went back at 9m for 2 days (20hrs) a week. The first 2 weeks I absolutely hated leaving him and I was a bag of nerves! He's ebf and such a mummas boy. I won't put my baby in nursery so I work when my BD is om his rest days. I won't lie he cried non stop for my first 2 days back at work, the next week he still was super upset and grumpy and I considered telling my partner I couldn't do it anymore but I'm on week 4 now and my baby blows me kisses and waves me goodbye. I now enjoy being in work, having some adult conversations and feeling like my own person however I miss my baby so so much every shift and can't wait to get back home to him! It's really hard but honestly once you both get settled in it will be amazing for both of you 🖤
I went back around 9 months and did 2/3 days for a few weeks and it was fine. Baby was with my mum though so that may have helped but i found it was a good balance… and the longer you leave it, the harder it is
