Bath frequency

Does everyone bathe their LO’s everyday as part of their bedtime routine? I bathe him only 2-3 days a week (pls don’t judge!) and it’s not part of his bedtime routine. I don’t bathe him everyday as he’s not a big fan of bathing and screams while I wash his head. So I don’t feel like stressing every night and traumatise himself and I. I just wash his hands and face very well before going to bed. FYI, he goes to nursery 5 days a week. But recently he fell ill in fact he falls sick quite often so my husband has been telling me that it’s because he doesn’t bathe everyday which kinda makes sense but I’m dreading this change. Bathing him alone feels like an absolute nightmare! How many days as a minimum is best to bathe toddlers you think?

I bath her every other day unless she's particularly mucky! Like you, I just wash her hands and her face on the other days.

We do every other day, for same reasons as you really! He goes to nursery twice a week but we’re still out and about in the park etc. on the days he’s not. I think children at this age just generally get sick quite a lot regardless of how often they have a bath!

Every other day because he has eczema so I literally couldn’t do it every day. I don’t remember having a bath every day as a kid either 🤷🏻‍♀️

We normally do every other day unless really dirty. My little boy gets quite dry skin and has struggled with some eczema, but since reducing the amount of baths this has improved. Sometimes if he just needs a quick wash he will let us shower him so he's not submerged in water. What helped us get him to love bath time was to get some foam letters and numbers, he loves them! My little boy goes to a forrest school nursery and when at home we are out most days because he gets bored very easily indoors and he doesn't get unwell that much, so I don't know if it is directly linked to bathing etc

We bathe everyday only because he is a really wild and messy toddler lol but I’d never judge a parent for doing less. His bath schedule may change after I have my second.

Every other day at the moment unless she really wants it.

Every day as he loves it and sleeps better.

We do every day she’s at nursery because she is mucky but when she’s homes with us we do every other day and hair wash twice a week. My daughter has eczema so I try to do as little as possible with her poor skin.

We do bath on Tuesday, Thursday & Sunday. My daughter knows what days are bath days and we generally stick to those unless we’ve something on that we can’t do one of the days or she’s dirty and needing a wash on a different day. She would happily have a bath every day as she loves it but I just don’t have the time to bath her every day x

We do every day because she gets soo mucky as she’s outdoors a lot! Only wash her hair a couple times a week though.

Thank you all lovely ladies for your responses xx The main thing I struggle with and my LO hates is washing off the shampoo. He’s terrified when I pour water on his head and simply would stand up on the tub- so any tip to make it easier for both him and I will be much appreciated ❤️

Hey. Why don’t you just wash his hair 2 , 3 times a week ? I do bath my little boy every day but not washing his hair always, when I do I usually ask him to look up or look at the corner of the bathroom etc… maybe try to hold a toy up? So when you washing off the shampoo is not going to get in to his face :)

Every other day, unless she refuses so we just do a good wash with a flannel instead x
