And I’m on my husband insurance and the insurance timeframe has closed at my job but I don’t wanna use his insurance anymore can I ask HR can I enroll in insurance I don’t have insurance with them only dental because he has the vision and medical

You need a “qualifying life changing” event to be able to enroll anytime other than open enrollment.

Alexis is right. You would need the paperwork to prove the divorce or wait until the next enrollment period.

If you have a special election period which is a qualifying life event such as losing coverage because you are coming off your husbands or getting a divorce in general, you have the ability to sign up for your coverage at work.

i never knew there wasn’t a way to get insurance after ‘open enrollment’, but maybe it depends on the job. if you’re concerned because you want to prepare, i would talk to HR. otherwise you can always go on state insurance until you are able to enroll/after the separation & then switch over.

Yes, divorce would be a qualifying life event that entitles you for a special enrollment. You'll just need the divorce decree so the divorce has to be final to switch.
