@Karen hey can I ask did your sickness stop at all with xonvea or did you continue taking throughout your pregnancy just in case? I’m still being pretty sick and whilst it’s more manageable than it was pre xonvea, I just don’t know whether I should expect to be sick throughout even with tablets? I’m 15+4 so far
I'm still sick everyday in the morning and a few times throughout the day, before xonvea I was in hospital every few days on drips so its been amazing for me! I take 2 at night and 1 in the morning when I thought my sickness was easing I'd lower my dose and I'd be very sick again but nearer the end of my pregnancies I was able to take 1 at night and would still be sick a few times which was manageable for me. It's so hard to know what to do but you could lower your dose when you're feeling a bit better to see how you feel, my prescription always said to contact the GP about changing the dose but the GP knew nothing about it 😂 sorry for the essay lol x
@Natalie I was super sick still on them, but it was more manageable! It was better on them than without, I’ve been on them until 28 weeks 🫣 just managed to survive last 5 weeks without them tbh now I’m 35 weeks almost
I was also on from 5-41 +3 weeks. Each time I tried to come off I was violently ill as if I was back in the first trimester and it took days to recover, so I felt staying on (one dose a day for me) was best for me. My baby is 10 months next week and was also born heavy, happy and completely happy. She’s knocking her developmental milestones out of the park, all her tests have been clear, and she’s 90th percentile in some of her measurements. She’s perfect to me. For some additional reassurance, the medical boards are so so strict on what is approved for pregnant women. Doxylamine is an antihistamine usually sold as a sleeping pill because of it’s drowsiness effect. Pyridoxine is just vitamin b6. Those are the ingredients of Xonvea. So you can think of it like taking a Clarityne/hayfever table and a vitamin daily. https://www.medicinesinpregnancy.org/leaflets-a-z/xonvea/
@Karen @Jess thanks ladies that’s really helpful 🥰🥰
I was on 4 Xonvea tablets a day for most of my second pregnancy. It made a big difference and made it possible to get some liquids and food in. I took it until week 35 or so. Baby girl is healthy and happy :) I think the effects of HG without medication are 10 times worse for you and baby then taking anti sickness medicines. Before I was put on Xonvea I was so unwell, I even fainted just trying to sit up in bed… it was awful. And I was really worried about baby because I was so sick and weak and couldn’t drink enough, etc. Once I got IV fluids and Xonvea I felt a lot better and felt a lot more baby movements too! Get the help you need and don’t risk getting really dehydrated/ developing any deficiencies…
@Robynn didn't know it was a antihistamine, makes sense as to why I am SO tired all the time and able to sleep any time!
I've had 2 healthy full term babies while taking Xonvea from 5 weeks - full term. They're currently 2 and 4 and never had any problems, met all their milestones early! I'm on my 3rd preganncy taking xonvea now. I done so much research and found no evidence of any harm. Try not to worry I know easier said than done. It's so much better for baby not being sick all the time and lacking nutrients x
