@Emma glad to help! Little boys tend to feel like they’re losing a part of themselves when going on the potty, so of course that can be a scary thing. Most children can be stubborn and want to push boundaries especially with their parents. Raising strong children takes a strong mama! You got this!
I work in child care and this is very common for boys. I recommend getting books about going potty and making going to the potty just a normal part of his routine. If he has his own little potty let him decorate it with stickers and write his name on it so he knows it’s his special potty. Definitely praise all the positives, even if he just touches the potty or says hi to it. Then work your way up to sitting on the potty while singing one or two songs. Potty training can be very emotional for little children because it’s a big change. He’ll get the hang of it soon enough. Hope this helps!
