why are you scared? Is it because of articles you’ve seen online?

Why are you scared of having one? Did you have one w your previous pregnancy? Are you at risk of one? It only affects .0025% of pregnancies in the USA, less in Europe

@Ciara I saw some one die from it recently and I'm just afraid

@Samantha oh okay, that makes sense. I would talk to your OB about your fears, they can talk to you about your risk factors and that may ease your mind. The odds are very low, it is so so rare. we encounter much higher danger risks on a daily basis

Girl you’re referring to the Nurse that recently died of amniotic fluid embolism. I’ve not stop thinking abt it and I freaked out for a whole week and the stupid internet sensed my fear and that’s all that pops up on my feed. I’m holding on to God. My fears are gone! You should do the same !

It is super scary and I’ve been thinking about it too. I asked my OB though and she said she’s been doing this for 20 years and never seen one. Another L&D nurse said she’s been doing this 14 years and only seen one, and both mom and baby survived. I know it’s scary though ā¤ļø I have the same fear

I’ve seen you post twice, from my own searching. I’m sorry. I’m in the same boat. 16 weeks and have been non stop thinking about it and crying for over a month now. I have 3 year old twins. I didn’t have these thoughts last pregnancy, now I’m at said to leave my boys. 😭

@Alyssa girl you’re not leaving them to go anywhere. You’re staying right there with them to watch them grow, love them and help them raise their kids. Now wipe those tears and have a goodnight sleep

@Esther I needed that, as I’m currently bawling after my boys are in bed. I’ve been lucky to be home with them their entire lives… I can’t even leave them to run to the doctors they cry and scream and tell me not to leave them… it breaks my heart. I know there’s so many people that love them but not like I do. They don’t do the things I do for them and with them. They don’t do all the security things in the home and everywhere to keep them safe. I might be over protective… but I’m just soo scared. Toured a hospital today and all these strong women looked so happy and excited and I’m trying not to cry or ask these questions to scare these other moms. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and hope to chat about it with them… been struggling since my 12 week appointment. But thank you so much for your comment. ā¤ļø

@Alyssa definitely talk to your OB about it. I’m sure they’re used to these questions from scared moms. I’ve been scared too, but talking about it with my providers has helped me a lot. I have a 3 year old little boy, and I completely understand the fear. We’ve got this, and our bodies know what to do.
