We just been doing it last week and this week, she has kidney issues so delayed us starting. So I chose a day, being the Monday and told her couple days leading up that we were going to have no more nappies. On the Monday morning I took it off her and said we would be using the potty now. I have used a rewards chart with peppa pig stickers and a stamp. I taped it to a unit eye height while she on the potty so she could see it. For each pee she gets a sticker and a poo she gets a stamp. She has never had smarties before so she got a sticker and a smartie each time she done it in the potty. She would get lots of cheers and claps and praise. We would then go to the toilet together to rinse it out and wash our hands then she could put her sticker on. It was great incentive to start her. Now she doesn’t care about them 😂 We had accidents but I just wiped it up and reminded her she had to do it in the potty to get her sticker. I stayed home with her naked bottom half for the first week.

If I had to go out I put on pants then a pull up on top so she could feel the wet but not wet her clothes but she stayed dry every time! I use nappies just for bed and now she tells me herself in the morning she wants it straight off as it’s yucky 😂

We have now progressed this week to wearing pants and trousers. She has had last minute accidents where she was either distracted or couldn’t get them down on time. I was literally following her around the house all day with a potty so bought a second one. I prompted her a lot then started seeing the signs she needed to go. Within 2 days she was already going herself while I wasn’t in the room. Sometimes she will sit 2 or 3 times before she does it as she now learning the sensation of needing to go but can hold it longer

Id say don't expect it to happen quickly. Some kids get it within a day or so. Mine it was an ongoing process.. poos took a couple months longer than wees. Consistency is key. Keep going. They will get it.

Best advice I can give is PERSEVERANCE. It can feel like they're never going to get it. You're washing 10 pairs of knickers/pants a day then all of a sudden it'll click. Every 30 minutes like clockwork pop her on the potty. LOADS AND LOADS AND LOADS of praise and excitement for any slightest wee. Like, little dribble, you'd think they'd cured cancer. Then they'll still have the odd accident AND can regress but it's a process.

Don't expect it to happen over Easter. My tips: 1. She's ready when she is ready. 2. Don't get angry or annoyed, ut will set them back 3. Bribe/Rewards. 1 chocolate button for a pee and 1 chocolate Lindt baby bunny for a poo. Possibly a sticker too! 4. If she has gone a whole day with no accidents, reward with her favourite toy figurines. Mine is obsessed with Peppa pig so got 1 at the end of each day to congratulate her. At the end of the week, she gets a peppa house or boat or plain etc too for doing so great during the week 5. I told her, and showed her a video, if she can go every day for a whole month. I will jolt her a poo party and invite all her friends to celebrate! She lived the idea and eventually lived the party!! Good luck!!!
