Potty Training

So we took the plunge to start potty training yesterday with my little girl who is 2 years 4 months. She seems to be weeing very often, every 10 or so minutes, she does drink a lot but I’m just worried her bladder isn’t ready? Will she start to go less often or do I need to put a pause on the toiletting? She does seem to be getting it, slowly🤞🏻

If she’s starting to get it, I’d just go with it! Maybe speak with HV as I’m not sure what’s normal and what’s not. We started potty training at 18ish months and my girl got it amazing then totally regressed and refused so we stopped. I’ve just gins into using nappy pants and we talk about getting her some big girl pants and how she’ll go when she has them. We’re going on our honeymoon in a couple of weeks and plan on starting when we get back 🤞🏼 x

@Samantha thank you! We are going to persevere! Very stressful lol!

@Beth yeah this is one thing I’m not looking forward to 😭😂 especially with a 9 week old to tend to also 😂 x

@Samantha oh yes I have a 6 week old too so trying to balance both is tricky haha! We will get there I’m sure x

When we started with my daughter at 18 months I started off every 30 mins but by the end of the day it was around every 10 mins. The next day following every 10 mins she started to get the hang of it and it only took a few days/week for the time to gradually go up to half an hour!

We started this week too and I asked my friend whose daughter potty trained a few months ago the exact same question as I was like how will we ha able to do anything if we need a wee stop every 15-20 minutes. My friend said her daughter just gradually started to improve her blather control and built up longer periods over time, so if your getting success with it I’d say keep going so you don’t loose this window of opportunity/momentum.

Thank you girls. She’s been much better today, definately getting the hang of it. We’ve had 3 accidents but she’s now able to hold it for about 45 mins/1 hour. Feel like we are making slow but good progress x
