My little girl is 2 and a half months and absolutely HATES tummy time, to the point we can’t do it with her for long as she screams and screams. We’ve tried doing it on a pillow, on our knees, on her playmat, on our chests and every time she just screams bloody murder. We’ve also tried different ways of moving her onto her tummy and distracting her with toys, etc. I’m worried it means she will struggle with holding her head up, rolling and eventually crawling. Does anyone have any advice on how to make this easier for her that we haven’t tried already?

Okay I have 2 parts:
1. Distractions are great. Have you also tried (if she’s not too heavy) on your arm with her head in your hand? Does she suffer from any reflux/how close are you doing tummy time in regards to eating or being hungry? If it’s too close to either one of those it could be the issue.
After feeding my LO I prop her on my chest, hand under her butt & on her lower back so she doesn’t randomly flip off me and just talk to her so we can get some tummy time in too (kinda kills 3 birds with one stone - burping, avoid reflux & tummy time).
2. My first hated tummy time also! I did frequent amounts of shorter times and would work it around feeds better to help. But even though he hated it and would do the shorter times he was rolling both ways at 4m and had great head control. He was also walking at 9m. So all that to say it doesn’t mean your little one will struggle or fall behind in these milestones.

My LB loves sleeping on our chests but other than that isn’t a fan of tummy time either, he hates it on his playmat and not for long periods, what he does tolerate 😂 is one of those round cushions I’ll send now, we put it on the sofa with us and prop him on (I think because we’re sat then at the same level he doesn’t mind it) and also he like his water mat! He suffers with wind and reflux so I think it’s nice and cool on his tummy, I see them on Vinted all the time for cheap so it may be worth a go?
How do you wind your little girl? I’d encourage over the shoulder & head in the crook of your arm, body along your arm and her bum in your hand, as well as over legs as these all give a tummy time position, in terms of her not liking your chests, do you have a sling or carrier? My loves it and his preferred way to sleep now is on our chests but this is also how we get the most tummy time done
