Raspberry leaf tea

My midwife has said for me not to take raspberry leaf tea until nearer 35/36 weeks. This is my second pregnancy and my first ended up in emergency c section. I did question this with the midwife as I thought you could start with 1 cup a day round 32 weeks but she said because of my previous section scar, it was best to wait.
I am trying so hard to have a VBAC this time so ideally want to start with natural products to help but I feel a bit worried now my midwife has said not to start the tea.
Anyone else experienced this?

I'm planning my 4th vba2c and am 32 weeks today and planning on starting it today. I have started with 1 cup a day at 32 weeks for all 4 of my vba2c babies. Next week I shall up it to 2 cups and then at 34 weeks 3 cups.

I’m in the same situation as you Sophia. I had an emergency c section with my first and am hoping for a vbac with my second so want to prep early. I’ve not heard before that you have to wait until later in pregnancy but I’ve had a quick Google and online says the same. It says that there haven’t been any studies on it but they recommend you avoid it because of it potentially affecting your scar tissue. I’ve got my 32 week check up in a few days so will ask then

yeah there’s minimal research and most say to avoid it but I’ve heard of people who have had it and it’s been fine.
Hard to know what to do.
I don’t see my midwife again till 34 weeks so I’ll ask her again then. I’m quite sensitive anyways so I was probably only going to have 1 cup of tea a day anyways but obviously I don’t want to risk if the advice is to avoid

I started at 32 weeks with my last baby (first VBAC) and was fine so personally started again at 32 weeks this time ☺️

I'm planning my first vbac and I started 1 Cup a day at 32 weeks. I'm now 34 weeks and having 2 a day. I don't believe there has been studies done on how raspberry leaf may affect scar tissue on the uterus so I believe NHS says avoid in case so I guess it's down to your personal preference xx
