Fussy

God when does it end. They tell you it stops by 3-4 months. Absolute bs he’s nearly 5 months. I feel like I’ve been sent the worst child ever I’m starting to really dislike him😭he cries and cries n cries, he’s always poorly, he’s always puking, doctors don’t give a shit and I can’t afford to go private. Fights his sleep I honestly GIVE UP

This is my exact child. Been like this since born he’s 10 weeks really struggling it’s so hard

You haven’t been sent the worst child, have you heard the expression they aren’t giving you a hard time they are having a hard time,

obviously something is wrong especially if he’s vomiting and always poorly, you need to really advocate for him with doctors either his GP/pediatrician or hospital doctors. He only has you to do that so he needs you,

he’s not getting sick for no reason so just keep insisting on tests.

If you are starting to dislike him then I suggest maybe talking to a therapist as that can turn into PPD and get really bad

Do you have anyone who can help you so you can get some rest? Someone who could take him out for a few hours in an afternoon so you can sleep? That could be a huge help

it’s so hard isn’t it💔 My first was absolutely perfect so I am really struggling with him.

I have tried four different doctors, I’ve been told there’s no such thing as silent reflux and he’s just one of those babies😭he has been admitted to hospital two times, they just shove him on antibiotics and call it a day. He’s had sepsis twice. Oh I understand that completely he is struggling. I am in talking therapy with it but it’s not helping, I have other children that I can’t tend to because he takes up all of my time😭husband works 12 hour days too, my heart breaks

Avatar

it sounds like he has some sort of ongoing health issue. I pray docs listen and they figure it out soon.

I keep suggesting this to the doctors but they always shove it aside. I’ve asked for allergy testing and they’re telling me I will have to go private

My heart breaks for you, it’s so hard when nobody will listen to you, you know your child better than anyone so I know they keep turning you away but keep insisting, do you have any family or friends you would be willing to help you or even a neighbour? While your husband is at work? It’s so hard to have no help, I have family but nobody visits as they feel 30 minutes away is too far to travel 😳 it’s so hard to do motherhood alone, just know your not alone ❤️

It sounds like there's something medical going on. Our boy had cmpa which wasn't diagnosed until 6 months and he honestly screamed the entire 6 months. It was horrific.

If the doctors you're seeing aren't giving a shit you need to see different doctors/go down different routes. Health Visitor, Infant Feeding Team, Perinatal Team, urgent care etc.

I've been there, it's hard.

it is really hard at the moment. I don’t have anybody unfortunately so it’s definitely rough🩷

Avatar

Is it literal non stop crying or is he crying after/during feeds? Or when he’s being put down for sleep

Avatar

@Colleen if it's all the time I'd suggest looking into sensory processing disorder. my bro had that and my parents say he would scream most of the time.

To be honest, a 5 month old shouldn’t be constantly getting sick. I have a 5 year old who started school in September where it’s an absolute germ fest that he brings home and his 4/5 month old sister has had a bit of a snotty nose twice so far and 1 temperature which lasted overnight. She’s very exposed too such as I take her everywhere, she’s around other babies and toddlers etc. she’s formula fed too so can’t say it’s breastfeeding antibodies. I would 100% be getting this looked into - don’t ask them, tell them.

Avatar

last night it was non stop, today he’s very fussy. He has just been a very very fussy baby since birth and I can’t help him💔

Avatar

that’s what I said but apparently it’s normal because his immune system is so weak at this age but when he gets sick it comes on so sudden and next thing we know we are in hospital and he’s on antibiotics for sepsis💔But they’re doing absolutely nothing to investigate it. I have rang the doctors again I have an appointment Wednesday x

Avatar

He has had two hospital admission, CRP level being 51 and 68. Should be below 10. Temp of 40° and major tachycardia 220. I feel so useless

Avatar

I'm only familiar with the US health system so idk if this would work over there but I'd demand a CBC and tests for immunosuppression, as well as a CMPA test (which is usually done by testing poop for blood). If they dismiss you ask to record in the chart that they refused care.

Avatar

If he’s formula fed you could try different formulas maybe the one you have doesn’t agree with him, if your breast feeding then I’m not too sure but you could try smaller amounts of feed but more frequently to give your LO time to digest the food also I find winding my baby after every 10 or so mls helps to relieve any possible wind which could also be adding to the problem?

Avatar

maybe he wants to be held by mama 24/7. try cosleeping with him until you figure out why with the doctors. I’d recommend trying to find a hospital where it’s a longer drive to go to if no hospitals near you works out. see online for the best rating ones.
