hydrocortisone cream

Hey, my daughter just turned 3 months. She was born at 37+2 went to the doctor's today. I thought she had eczema but it's dermatitis. They prescribed hydrocortisone cream. I'm abit worried to use it as it's a steroid cream and she's so young. Has anyone else used it on there baby and they've been okay? Thankyou🫶

I personally have not but my friend used it on her son and said it was okay. Where on the body has the doctor advised using it?

I was prescribed Fucidin which had 1% hydrocortisone in it for my little girl about a month or so ago when she was 8/9 weeks old as she had a rash on her bum which was a bacterial infection. But I only had to apply it for a week until it completely cleared

Hopefully the doctors should have talked to you about short term steroid cream use to manage the flare up issue and then swapping to a consistent moisturiser ect

She has a little on her chest and back but mainly the top of her forehead and the top of her head. I told them I was skeptical about using steroid cream but they said because it's a low dose and it's only for 5 days it will be okay. And to go back if it doesn't help. They also prescribed an ointment but I can't get it till tomorrow. So I've been using derma cream which helps it from being dry but doesn't get rid x
