Anxious anxious anxious

I changed my birth plan at my 36 week midwife appointment and have decided I would like a planned c section because the idea of vaginal birth just terrifies me. She said she’d push for me to get a doctors appointment to discuss further but I’m not 37+1 and heard nothing back 😭I have this constant fear she’s going to come before any of the c section gets planned. It is my first and usually they are later right??

Hi, usually they are later is what I heard too. Also, how did u convince your midwife for an elective C? What was your reasoning and did she immediately agree?

This isn't exactly the same situation as I was advised to have a C-section or induction, but when they gave me my section date it was only 3 days away! So they can book them in very last minute, you still have time. Good luck! 😊

They won’t book you in until week 39 anyway so you still have plenty of time.

I think it depends entirely on your trust. I received my elective date (currently 37 weeks pregnant) at the weekend, however I did notify consultant/midwife that I wanted a c-section at around 34 weeks. I have been pre-warned though that the date might change. X

Even if you go into labour before you can still request a c section

Thanks for all the responses 💓💓 had a call this morning and have a appointment tomorrow morning with midwife’s and doctor 😁 hopefully be a good outcome 🤞 @Asmara my midwife is lovely and has never been pushy towards anything i don’t want to do the same with breastfeeding. I made a pros and cons list for vaginal and c section and showed her, my main reasoning was that it was causing me immense anxiety not knowing what was going to happen when it was going to happen how much pain I’d be in etc etc and then the thought of being in labour for hours and being exhausted to only have a c section in the end anyway plays on my mind a lot because a lot of people I know that has happened to. We spoke for a while about the different pros and cons and I came to the conclusion that despite some of the cons of c section I’d still like to go ahead and she was fine with it and said she’d get me an appointment at hospital straight away! Hope that helps sorry it’s so long winded haha x
