Check the local housing allowance calculators online to see what the maximum support you can get from UC per month is.

UC are unable to help with deposits however your local council may have a deposit help scheme. Information about this should be on their website.

Some councils also have a list of socially responsible landlords who will consider UC recipients and have lower rental amounts.

If you get a place you will need to report it when you move in and upload proof of liability for rent and proof off address. Usually this is a full tenancy agreement and a utility/council tax bill. If you don't have these you can have a signed letter from your landlord which shows the address, both yours and the landlord's name, dates of tenancy, and rental amount. This should be all that is needed to verify your housing and your rent (up to the LHA) should be added to your UC.
