Yes let them know it’s something you’d like , it’s within a birthing centre not the main hospital

The Midwife should go through a plan with you, you can say what type of birth you want, what pain relief, who will be with you etc

Yes, the midwife is the one to discuss this with. Generally they solidify the plan by 36 weeks. To qualify, you have to have a low risk pregnancy.

Discuss with midwife but a pool birth isn’t always guaranteed incase it’s already in use the day you go into labour so opt in for other options too. I wanted a water birth with both of mine but my birth plan got thrown out the window x

Talk to the midwife so she can put your name down for the use of their pool but their pool might be all used up on the day so just be prepared for that. They might only have 3-4 in the whole hospital and it takes like an hour to setup so it’ll have to be done quite early, too. The setup and take down of each pool takes like 2hrs. If anything, you have the hot water of the shower too, that really helps. Esp if you can take the handle off and hold the hot water directly at the back. If it’s birth centre they’ll usually already have a spa bath that she can jump into, for each room
