Can anyone identify what’s wrong with my baby’s skin?

Her neck smells like fish and looks raw and itchy.

I would say most likely from moisture (drooling) try to keep dry by wiping throughout the day and it should go away!

Heya my LO had this when he was a baby it was from dribbling and then clothes rubbing the area! If it gets worse to the point of it weeping I would do doctors, they gave us cream which fixed it within 2 days!

It’s very normal for a baby’s neck to be a little smelly especially when they’re super young. They still can’t hold their neck up and it’s not getting enough air so trapped sweat and milk can cause smell. I would say clean regularly with warm water then wipe dry and if it looks a little sore put a light layer of sudocreme on the area. Doesn’t last too long. if it carries on see the gp.

It’s from dribble, and the milk dribble makes it smelly. Clean gently and keep it clean & dry. I use to put Vaseline or aquaphor on my daughters neck as a barrier x

Thank you so much!!

My baby has a similar neck and cheeks and it’s from his eczema! I hope yours is from dribble as mentioned above but keep eczema in mind if she gets any other spots

Thank you sm! I think it could potentially be eczema too as I suffer with it myself!

lol first time mom problems. I remember this during the trenches . And I can’t beleive here I am able to offer advice to another new mama solol love this journey! Bt long story short I didn’t know I had to check the little wrinkles and all creases cuz as the other mamas said it’s normal for this places to stay “moist” cuz they are drooling and from milk etc. my baby had like open sore wounds cuz he was very sweaty moist baby. I even discovered his under arms had the same smell & his skin under there was just like his neck. Check their hands as well, cuz my sons hands had the same thing happen in the days were I would put gloves on him so he wouldn’t scratch his face etc. & because babies like to have their hands closed in fists or balls, bt long story short jus make sure there skin is able to breathe or get air; constantly having wet skin can cause blisters.
